The Boston Eire Og' Camogie Club, in recognition of their 30th anniversary, hosted a most successful International Camogie Tournament at the Irish Cultural Center, in Canton, MA. Eleven teams, eight from Ireland and three from the US competed in the tournament. The following clubs from Ireland participated: Castlegar, Mullagh and Davitts from Co. Galway, Ferns and Bunclody from Co. Wexford, Bredagh, Ardoyne from Co. Antrim and Kilcoo from Co. Down While teams from Boston, Chicago and Milwaukee represented the U.S.

Fifteen games were played, nine in the senior competition and six in the junior competition, during the 3-day tournament. Eire Og, the only U.S. team competing at senior level proved able opponents against the Irish visitors. They reached the semi-final going down to the eventual runners-up, Davitts, by just 2 points in a thrilling game. In an all Galway final Mullagh defeated county rivals Davitts by 3 points, 1-11 to 1-8 to win the senior cup. Host team Eire Og captured the Senior Shield with a 1 point victory over Wexford side Ferns in a low scoring game with a final score of 0-5 to 0-4.

Chicago's St. Mary's were very impressive in winning the Junior Cup, defeating Belfast team Bredagh, 6-7 to 2-3 in the final. Highlight of the game was the great performance of Galway county star Molly Dunne who scored five of Chicago's 6 goals. In a very close Junior Shield final Ardoyne of Belfast defeated a Milwaukee team with just one Irish born player, 2-1 to 1-2.

The Ardstiurthoir of Cumann Camogaiochta na Gael, Sile Wallace attended the tournament. Also in attendance were  camogie officials Philis Breslin, Maire Ui Scolai and Eamonn Brown.
